Helmsley Dakar

Keith & Adele from Barnsley

I heard about DIY Kitchens from a friend. We were quite amazed at the quality and after looking at other competitor quotes, the cost and quality at DIY Kitchens was the reason we went with them.

We pretty much gutted every room in the house, always keeping in mind that we wanted to make the kitchen bigger as the previous kitchen we had wasn’t functional for our needs.

When we went to the showroom, as soon as we saw it, we fell in love with the Helmsley and this is the kitchen we wanted. We got 2 or 3 different sample doors and put them in the room at different times of day and in different lights to decide on what we wanted to use.

We used a kitchen fitter that we’ve used before that is also a proper joiner. We wanted a bespoke coffee bar & drinks bar, which he helped us achieve inside your units. In the pantry area, he also built us an appliance garage using carcase material. The final custom piece was the bench as you walk in through the front door.

All the custom bits really make it personal to us, and all the units were of a really high quality, compared with what we had seen at some other suppliers.

When we moved in, we knew that this was our forever home, so we wanted to have a kitchen that fitted our needs and we got that with DIY Kitchens.

Bramley Cashmere

Annika from West Yorkshire

We started our renovations and extended this side of the house. We wanted a big family kitchen/diner and utility room and somebody recommended DIY Kitchens, so we went to the showroom to have a look. We got lots of inspiration and decided on our kitchen, which we installed ourselves (Bramley Cashmere Shaker).

We’ve been really happy with the kitchen and have recommended DIY Kitchens to lots of our friends. We saved a lot of money compared to others and we really liked the quality of the products as well. The fact that you could bring samples home and check them in different lights really helped.

The planner I thought was good and quite easy to use, because it allowed you to move things around and then it gave you suggestions when you couldn’t put something in a certain place.

We did go into the showroom as well and get a bit of advice. We were a bit torn between the modern look and the more traditional. We did want the wood doors, so that we could paint them potentially in the future if we wanted a bit of a change and Bramley was just coming out as we were in the midst of going back and forth within the showroom and making our plans.

We really liked Bramley because it had a bit of a narrower edge to the doors, which we thought was more of a modern look on the original sort of traditional feel. We really liked the colour Cashmere as a sort of griege neutral and we felt that it would give us lots of opportunities with changing the colours around it.

Stanbury Reed Green

Natasha from Devon

The school’s been running now for 6 years but this is the first year at our new location. We purpose built this space by converting a couple of old barns, a garage and a swimming pool.

We renovated a derelict house about 18 years ago. We came across DIY Kitchens online and the kitchen we bought lasted us until we left that place. It was a really good, solid kitchen so using DIY Kitchens again was an obvious choice.

Our intention was to create an environment which feels comfortable to be in but feels like it could be your own home too. We wanted a really nice kitchen that was accessible and spacious. Everybody that walks in just goes ‘WOW’ as they walk around the corner into the main room.

I’ve always designed our kitchens in the past and this is our 5th kitchen from DIY Kitchens. I’m very familiar with the online planner and I enjoying using it and moving things around to achieve the perfect space.

We designed 8 pods with induction hobs, which are all on wheels, so they are independent units that can be moved around as required to change the format.

With this kitchen, we wanted something that was light but didn’t show up every speck of dirt and was easy to clean. We went for the Stanbury shaker kitchen in Reed Green and the finish on these units is fantastic and really hard wearing too.

If I’d bought that kitchen from a competitor, it would have been twice the price and we are genuinely impressed with the quality and value for money.

Sienna Cashmere

Lyndsey from Merseyside

This was an 1980s bungalow, so we stripped it right back and built it up to be a 4 bedroom house. We went for the True Handleless design and it's in Cashmere & Slate and it's absolutely stunning. We love it, it goes in with the theme of the house and it's quite timeless as well.

We wanted to make sure we utilised the space fully, so we went for quite a large island with a lot of storage, both front and back. We've also gone for a pantry design; it was non-negotiable when designing the kitchen and we've got a utility that we have all our appliances in too. In the utility we also have a built-in laundry shute, which comes from the bathroom upstairs straight into the utility.

We have 2 different designs, both Cashmere but it's Carrera Cashmere in the utility and Sienna Cashmere paired with the true handless Palazzo Slate with bronze profiles in the kitchen. We love modern, simplicity and clean lines and this is not something I’m going to get bored of.

We went for Dekton worktops (Arga XGloss) which is quite a luxury, but it's been the best investment because they don't stain, they’re easy to clean and they just look absolutely stunning, and it goes perfectly with the kitchen.

We wanted to add some bronze colour into the design just to break it up a little, so we went for bronze trim with the lights as well, all around the kitchen. So, of an evening, you can put the lighting on and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

In our old house, we had a DIY Kitchen, I hadn’t heard of DIY Kitchens before that and they were recommended to us by our builder, se we went with their judgement and got our kitchen and loved it and got loads of compliments in our old house. There was no doubt that we weren’t going to go with DIY Kitchens again for this renovation.

Linton Knightsbridge Blue

Nicky & Harri from Suffolk

We have just taken this dilapidated house and made it into a beautiful dream home. After asking our Instagram followers who to use for the renovation, a crazy amount of people replied with DIY Kitchens. From thereon in, we know who we were going to use.

The whole design element is where we came into our element, getting to see the kitchen design on the screen for the first time was just so cool. The old kitchen was completely ripped out and the online planner help us to make full use of the kitchen space, to create a family kitchen/diner.

After getting some door and worktop samples, we visited the DIY Kitchens showroom to see everything in real life and as soon as I saw this one particular worktop that I had my eye on, I know the Unique quartz was the one for me.

One thing we did notice about DIY Kitchens was the quality, specifically the door thickness and how well built it all feels. The delivery and installation process were also so easy and we loved the fact that all the units came fully built. We just needed to put them in place and level them.

We cannot thank DIY Kitchens enough for helping us to transform this space from a derelict building site, into our dream home.
